Winter Came Back

Hi Everone!

It's me, Chloe! I hear that Molly introduced me last week. I'm staying with her and my foster mom and I love it here! I get to play with Molly and snuggle with fff-mom and chase her cat (which she doesn't like for some reason. I don't know why. He runs, after all!) and learn some cool tricks.

Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of stuff to teach too. Like the other day when I taught Molly how to play in the snow. See we got a freaky snowfall. I spent a lot of time outside at my last home and I learned that snow is not supposed to fall in the springtime, but I like the snow so an April snowfall that I got to play in was pretty fun!

Molly didn't want to play in the snow because she said it made her toes coold! I told her that if she ran fast enough, she wouldn't notice her coold toes. So I showed her how. After a while she really started to get the hang of it!

By the end of the night she not only knew how to run in the snow, but she learned how to chase it as it fell, too!

We were pretty tired after a long day of snow dog training.

Human Here

Hi Everyone

I've given Molly the day off blogging today. ;) I needed to put in a plug for my foster dog, Chloe. She is available for adoption through The Western Pennsylvania Humane Society. She is a wonderful dog who would do well in most homes. If you're curious about Chloe, feel free to send me an e-mail. Also, this post was a good excuse to post a picture of Molly on Superbowl Sunday.

She really doesn't do well with camera flashes.

Fake Sister

I have a fake sister now. My mom calls her a "foster sister," but I like saying fake sister better. My mom also calls her a big blue ox, but I'm pretty sure that she's a dog. Her name is Chloe. I think that's stupid. I know that's not nice of me to say, but I have my reasons.

1. First of all, she steals all of my toys.

2. And she thinks that my couch is her couch.

3. She smells funny.

4. And she butts into all of my business!

5. She looks like an elf.

6. She thinks she's the queen of everything around here.

But...she is fun to play with, I have to admit.

So I guess she can stay for a while.

Switching foods again!

I'm getting new foods!

I've gotten new foods a lot in my life. First it was switching off the shelter food to stuff at my new home. It was really yummy! But that food made me "gassy" which means that my mom wrinkles up her nose at me and leaves the room. So I don't like being gassy. Then we switched to something without corn in it because corn upsets dogs tummies lots of times. That was good for a while but now we're switching again. I guess it's because my mom has gotten pretty fed up with my rash. Me too!

I've had this really annoying rash almost my whole life. When we first went to the vet, they told us that it was a summer rash that was pretty common with dogs like me. I got some pills to take (My mom wrapped them in CHEESE!!!) and it got better. It came back the next summer too, but then it just hung around through winter, even with the pills. We've gone back and forth to the vet's office (which I don't like because it smells like too many other dogs and it has tile floors. I hate tile floors.) bunches of times and we got different advice: antibiotics, medicated shampoos, creams, and sprays. NOT fun.

For the last few months, my mom has been giving me a bath EVERY week with the medicated shampoo. Boo! I hate the bath. The rash was not getting any better. This time she decided not to take me to the vet, but to ask for advice online. Some nice lady who had a pit bull with skin problems told her that my diet was maybe the problem. So my mom decided to switch my dog food to something that doesn't have wheat in it. She thinks I have allerrgies--oh noes! I don't really know what that means, but if it means that I have a rash, then I don't like allerrrgies.

So my mom went to PETCO to by me some new food. She bought something called Natural Balance Venison and Sweet Potato Formula and some new wheat-free dog treats. My new food is supossed to be really, really healthy. It's super tasty too! I've been slowly switching over to it the last few days and my fur already feels softer. I'll be letting you know how it goes. My mom is relieved that I liked the new food. I can be kinda picky about eating...unless its the table scraps my grandpa feeds me when my mom isn't looking! It costs more than my last food, but my mom says that if it helps me be less it itchy, its worth it.
